As the 2024/25 academic year begins to wind down, the UK university sport season is far from over!
With Championship titles still up for grabs in several sports, the summer calendar remains busy with student-athletes preparing to proudly represent their institutions for one last time this season.
From beach volleyball to equestrian events, more than 10 BUCS Championships are set to be contested in the coming weeks—showcasing the variety and longevity of the university sport season.
Spanning from September through to July, the UK university sport calendar features more than 120 championship events annually across a wide variety of sports, providing student-athletes with year-round opportunities to compete for national honours in both team and individual competitions.

5th -6th June 2025
Beach Volleyball Championships
The 2025 BUCS Beach Volleyball Championships are set to take place once again on the picturesque Sandbanks Beach along England’s South Coast.
Across two action-packed days, students from universities across the country will descend on Bournemouth to compete in the season’s final volleyball event, battling it out in the Championship, Trophy, and Shield knockout tournaments.

7th June 2025
LUSL 3×3 Basketball
Returning this summer, the London Universities Sports Leagues will stage their exciting 3×3 basketball tournament at the vibrant Clapham Common courts in South London.
University teams from across the UK will take to the court for a fast-paced, high-energy competition, as they compete for the chance to be named National Champions.

14th-15th June 2025
Outdoor Archery Championships
The UK’s top student archers will gather for the 2025 Archery Outdoor Championships, where precision, control, and concentration take centre stage.
From first-time competitors to seasoned internationals, participants will compete across multiple disciplines—including recurve, compound, longbow, and barebow—as they aim to claim national titles for their universities.

18th – 20th June 2025
Equestrian Championship & Trophy Finals
As the standout event of the university equestrian season, the BUCS Championship & Trophy Finals will bring together top student riders from across the UK.
Hosted at the impressive Easton College Equestrian Centre, this three-day spectacle will feature high-level Dressage and Showjumping as competitors vie for national honours in a showcase of control, skill, and precision.

21st June 2025
Triathlon: Standard Distance Championships
Marking the conclusion of the university triathlon season, the third and final event challenges student-athletes to conquer three demanding stages: a 1500m open-water swim, a 40km cycle, and a 10km run.
Set against the scenic backdrop of Whitlingham Country Park in Norfolk, this endurance race will see students from universities nationwide test their limits in one last all-out effort for the 2024/25 season.

20th June and 4th July 2025
Outdoor Cricket Championship Finals
The UK university cricket season rounds off with a championship showdown for the best Men’s and Women’s teams in the country.
This year’s finals will take place at the stunning Kibworth Cricket Club in Leicestershire, England, with the Women’s Championships taking centre stage on 20th June, followed by a thrilling showdown between the top men’s teams on 4th July.
