Physiotherapy is a science-based profession that focuses on recovery from illness, injury or disability.
From working with professional athletes to those patients affected by injury or illness, a qualified physiotherapist will work with patients of all ages and assist with their recovery. The goal of a physiotherapist is to help their patient to restore function and maximise movement.
Throughout your physiotherapy degree in the U.K. you will develop an understanding of how the human body works, what happens when injuries occur and how to effectively treat and manage them. Many universities will also offer their physiotherapy students the opportunity to pursue a work placement alongside their studies, providing them with an opportunity to apply their knowledge in a practical setting.
